I am a highly experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist with 20 years’ experience working in the NHS and independently. For 18 years I have specialised in working with children who have cerebral palsy, brain injury, spinal cord injury and other acquired disabilities. I carry out comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments. In addition, I can offer in-depth housing assessments, postural assessments, wheelchair, seating and equipment assessments.

What I offer

Comprehensive assessment

I will assess the child and the environment with a range of standardised and non-standardised measures. Assessment can be carried out face to face, remotely or a mixture of both to suit the client and your needs.

Report including goals and recommendations

I will provide a clear report outlining the client’s strengths and areas for therapy. The report will detail the child’s current ability and goals for recommended therapy provision with full justification of the clinical reasoning for the recommendations.

Evidence based treatment

I have experience and training in a wide range of treatment approaches and techniques. I will keep comprehensive notes and use outcome measures to ensure that the treatment I am providing is meeting the child’s needs and goals. I am trained in the use of lycra garments, sensory diets and ladders, Constraint Induced Movement Therapy, Bimanual therapy, Goal Directed therapy, use of eye gaze and switches for communication and environmental controls, postural management and an extensive range of equipment.

To ensure my knowledge/intervention is both evidence based and up to date; I and regularly attend post graduate training events and read academic literature.

Progress reports

I will provide regular progress reports outlining the child’s progress towards their goals and the evidence to support this progress. I will clearly outline any further recommendations and costs.
